Make sure to place the speakers correctly along with choosing the best ones. The theater system must also go with the room size otherwise the sound may be too tinny or too bold.
Wireless convenience
That's pretty hard to improve upon, but we did it by bundling it with the new third-generation Sonos Sub and a pair of One SL speakers for full-on surround sound. You can easily play music from over 30 different streaming services with varying songs in different rooms at different volumes and settings. This solution can connect to your WI-FI and even update itself to stay up to date. In terms of Sonos 5.1 speaker placement, it will be same as we do with other speakers.
For instance, Sonos Beam and Arc will support HDMI whereas the Playbase will offer optical connection for TV. Enjoy hours of music, radio, audiobooks, and more from all your favorite services thanks to Roam's long-lasting rechargeable battery. Listen at home with WiFi and easily control the sound with the Sonos app, your voice, and Apple AirPlay 2. Add more Sonos speakers around your home for multiroom listening. You can choose between wired and wireless speakers as well.
The Ultimate Wireless Speaker Solution
If you’ve ever heard a Sonos speaker, you’ll know they don’t mess around with audio quality. Not only do they play loud, but the sound clarity is also crazy good. In combination with the app, you can even turn on settings such as dialog enhancement, if you’re having trouble hearing a conversation in a movie. The advanced and continuously updated Sonos technology will take care of your issue and ensure the audio levels for the dialog are consistent. Additionally, it will reduce the volume of any interfering background audio. The Sonos speakers we've tested tend to have well-balanced sound profiles, making them suitable for listening to most audio content.

Sonically, the Sub Gen 2 and 3 performs the same. Although the gap between drivers is more in Gen 3 than Gen 2, overall features and specs remain same for both models. You can expand into other areas of your home by adding anotherSonos Oneor the largerFive, in every room where you want to listen to music. Or, you can even go portable with the more rugged, battery-poweredMove. For even more bass in your home theater setup, you can add a second a Sub.
Sonos Sub
Every little detail adds up to raise this unit above the competition – And oh boy, is the view from up there good. The Sonos 5.1 surround sound home theater system is one of the best solutions on the market. With crystal clarity audio and lots of high-tech features and customization options, the Sonos 5.1 surround system absolutely smashes the competition. Unique to Sonos, everything comes in a sleek and minimalistic design, perfect for any modern living room. It almost resembles a block display font version of the letter O.
Although the One speaker wont sound very loud on its own, it will perform pretty well when paired with the bar. If you are not using it as surround speaker, you can use it as multiroom audio system as well. With side-firing drivers, you will feel the spreaded sound. And when paired with two Sonos One speaker, the surround sound will become powerful and prominent.
Product highlights:
My 2020 TV has HDMI connections for a streaming box and Blu-Ray player so I didn't need a receiver. However I cannot listen to over-the-air radio because I don't have a receiver. In a Sonos surround system, the soundbar will act as the front three channels. It is not possible to use two additional Sonos speakers as front left/right channels.

In tight spaces we recommend at least pairing the bar with a sub. With the sub you can create a Sonos beam 5.1 home theater set. It supports Sonos multiroom feature, Airplay and work with Alexa and Google Assistant. Stream music, radio, audiobooks, and more from all your favorite services, and take the sound from room to room and beyond. The weather-resistant design, rechargeable battery, and wide soundstage deliver an exceptional outdoor listening experience.
Best of all, you can control the Sonos system with your TV remote and you also have access to the Sonos app to stream music and adjust any settings. That's pretty hard to improve upon, but we did it by bundling it with the new third-generation Sonos Sub and a pair of One speakers for full-on surround sound. I was very impressed with this system when I got my hands on it recently. It was super-easy to set up, and it sounded fantastic. Arc has a single HDMI eARC port for connecting it to your TV. If your TV has eARC, you are all set to pass an Atmos signal through to your bar from either a connected Blu-ray player or your device's streaming services.

The only difference is that Sonos creates its own network to send information to the Sub and SL one so it is not using your wifi to send the sound. The Sonos arc was mainly built for the future and the future is streaming. So if you movies are on blue ray, there are work arounds. Some older Sonos products ("legacy" products) will not support the advances of the S2 app due to their memory and processing power.
