Although the One speaker wont sound very loud on its own, it will perform pretty well when paired with the bar. My 2020 TV has HDMI connections for a streaming box and Blu-Ray player so I didn't need a receiver. However I cannot listen to over-the-air radio because I don't have a receiver. In a Sonos surround system, the soundbar will act as the front three channels. It is not possible to use two additional Sonos speakers as front left/right channels.

I was very impressed with this system when I got my hands on it recently. It was super-easy to set up, and it sounded fantastic. Arc has a single HDMI eARC port for connecting it to your TV. The only difference is that Sonos creates its own network to send information to the Sub and SL one so it is not using your wifi to send the sound. The Sonos arc was mainly built for the future and the future is streaming. So if you movies are on blue ray, there are work arounds. Some older Sonos products ("legacy" products) will not support the advances of the S2 app due to their memory and processing power.
